My Professional Journey

I work as a Data Risk Consultant in the Data Privacy and Protection team at Deloitte US-India (USI). My day-to-day activities involve conducting privacy assessments, devising strategy and roadmap, building privacy / data protection policies and operating model, rationalizing requirements of privacy laws and working on presales activities (building proposals and statements of work).

I have worked with clients from financial and consumer industry, where the engagements were related to GDPR, CCPA and privacy laws from countries such as Australia, Canada, New Zealand and Singapore. 

I worked as a software engineer in the business intelligence domain. This job helped in acquiring experience in IBM DataStage (ETL tool), Shell script, basics of Perl script and SQL.

This was my first job and groomed me for the corporate. It taught me professionalism, business communication and basic technical knowledge.  During this job, I realised that I wanted to broaden my knowledge and understand how businesses work and then I decided to pursue business administration course.

Studying at a B-school broadened my perspective on how businesses actually work and provided me with the right opportunities to gain practical knowledge of the business world. 

My experience and achievements: 

• Won the campus winner award for Hindustan Unilever’s The Big Brand Theory competition in 2018

• Led a team of 7 to conduct market research for a Tata Global Beverages to understand consumer behaviour of packaged and unpackaged tea users

• Performed Social Media Marketing for a restaurant in Manipal and increased brand engagement by 10%

• Generated 100%+ profits in the $5 challenge activity as part of New Venture Challenge subject 

• Involved in content creation and curation for the social media platforms of The Marketing Forum

Apart from coursework, I spent my time in the college on co-curricular activities for the clubs that I was part of: IEEE ASET and music club.  This helped me in building soft skills such as leadership, public speaking, event organizing and publicity skills. Furthermore, I acquired experience in programming in C++ and C, query language - SQL and learned about microcontrollers.

I got the chance to serve as the General Secretary of IEEE ASET during 2013-14 and as the Publicity Head for the tech fest of the college in 2013.
